PSCBW at the Washington State Prevention Summit
The PSCBW had an active presence at the October 27-29, 2011 Washington State Prevention Summit in Yakima. We sponsored the Thursday evening Prevention Professionals Networking Soiree, presented an informational session about prevention credentialing to more than 20 individuals, and had an exhibit booth.
Marcia Via, the PSCBW Certification Secretary, also had a great idea to have special name tag ribbons created to designate our Certified Prevention Professionals (CPPs). The ribbons were distributed at the Prevention Soiree. It was a terrific way to recognize our CPPs across the state.
We hope to see you at next year's annual summit.
King County Support for Prevention Training
King County has dedicated local funds to support individuals seeking to obtain the Certified Prevention Professionals (CPP) credential. The funding will support prevention training as well as application/ testing fees associated with the CPP credential. The individuals must work or volunteer at agencies in the King County prevention provider network.
